Shared Smiles (Ryeowook (Super Junior) x Jaejoong(DBSK))

Rated G

The first time Ryeowook met Hero Jaejoong, he forgot to breathe.

Jaejoong was standing across the room, chatting with Yunho and Donghae about something, when Ryeowook saw him and froze. He was a fan, a big one. And meeting Jaejoong in person was more than a little exciting.

“Ryeowook, have you met Dong Bang Shin Ki yet?” Eeteuk asked, coming up behind him and grabbing his elbow. Ryeowook shook his head.

He hadn't been in SM training like the others, but had been thrown into Super Junior practically at the last minute. Most of the others knew each other and Dong Bang Shin Ki already, some for a really long time.

Eeteuk pulled him to each of the members of DBSK, introducing him. Jaejoong was last, and as they approached him, he turned away from Yunho, laughter on his lips, to smile shyly at Ryeowook.

It was a real, genuine smile that lit up his entire face. It was a smile made just for Ryeowook, who knew instantly that he'd never find anything more beautiful for the rest of his life.

And then it became something special to Ryeowook, something to look forward to, running into Jaejoong so that they could share special smiles across crowded rooms.

Ryeowook could swear that Jaejoong had a special smile just for him, and when DBSK was away, he found himself watching them on TV more and more in hopes of catching a glimpse of it.

He thought no one would notice his interest that was bordering on infatuation, but of course, living in such close quarters with so many boys, they did. The teasing wasn't too bad, really, the advice was worse. Ryeowook knew his hyung's meant well, but he was happy with how things were. Most of the time. And it's not like someone like Jaejoong would ever return the feelings that were slowly growing inside of him. Of that, he was certain.

Ryeowook ran up the stairs into the apartment building DBSK lived in, his head shielded from the sudden rain with his bag. He wanted to borrow a book from Changmin and had decided to walk. The rain was an unexpected surprise.

He rung the doorbell and then nervously fussed with his wet orange hair, shaking out the water and flipping up the ends.

Jaejoong answered the door a moment later.

"Jae-Jaejoonghyung~" Ryeowook stuttered, more from nervousness than from the cold that was seeping into his bones.

"Ah, Ryeowook-sshi, come on in, you’re soaked! Let me find you a towel. Changmin left the book for you on the table."

"Thank you hyung," Ryeowook said, smiling nervously, entering and taking off his shoes.

"Do you want something hot to drink?" Jaejoong asked a moment later, handing Ryeowook a towel.

"Sure."

“You can stay here until the rain lets up.”

“Thank you.”

Ryeowook dried off the best he could and sat down on the couch. Jaejoong handed him a mug of something warm and sat down beside him.

Ryeowook smiled at him in gratitude.

Jaejoong grinned at him, his smile more open than Ryeowook had ever seen, and Ryeowook felt himself blushing, the urge to press his lips against his hyung's and steal the smile away to keep forever for himself overwhelming.

“You have a nice smile, Ryeowook,” Jaejoong said softly, reaching out and brushing his fingers against Ryeowook’s cheek.

Ryeowook blushed even more, surprised. "Hyung--"

“Whenever I see you smile… ” Jaejoong continued, sliding closer, “It makes me feel…”

Ryeowook licked his lips nervously.

“Like I’m the only one you see…”

Ryeowook smiled then, and leaned closer, and just before their lips met, whispered, “You are.”
